EMERALDS × SPINE: Advancing Public Transport Intelligence Across Europe
🗓️ 16 December 2025 — 15:00 to 15:30 (CET)
Public transport systems across Europe are rapidly evolving, driven by the need for smarter, more integrated and more reliable mobility services. As cities work to unlock the value of real-time data, improve service quality and build future-proof digital ecosystems, collaboration becomes essential. This joint EMERALDS–SPINE webinar brings together two innovation-driven initiatives to explore how data intelligence can strengthen public transport operations and enhance the passenger experience.
In this session, SPINE will open the discussion with an accessible overview of their approach to quality management of public transport data and service performance. Using the City of Antwerp as a live example, they will demonstrate how structured data validation and quality analysis can directly support more reliable and user-oriented mobility planning.
Building on this, EMERALDS will present tangible results from its ongoing work in Riga, showcasing how real-time data analytics are being used to understand travel behaviours and inform more adaptive public transport solutions. This demonstration highlights how advanced modelling and data-driven decision-making can help cities optimise operations, respond to emerging trends and better serve passengers.
The 30-minute webinar offers a concise yet insightful look at two complementary approaches to innovating Europe’s mobility landscape — one grounded in data quality, the other in real-time behavioural intelligence. Participants will gain a clearer understanding of how these methodologies can support integrated planning, improved service quality and scalable digital transformation across urban transport networks.
